- Slide turret arm to bottom of upright
- Mark each extruder and spindle (tools 1 - 5) with its respective tool number.
- Mark each tool number on the turret arms
- Mark arm pulley and turret with a small straight line to facilitate pulley-turret alignment during reinstallation.
- Remove all extruders and spindles from the turret. When disconnecting electrical cables, make sure to identify and note the connection locations for each cable.
- Loosen clamping screws and shoulder screw of turret latch so that turret can be locked and unlocked manually by lifting the shaft of the turret latch
- Remove M3x5 SS SHCS from tool circuit boards on back side of turret arm and free circuit board from turret arm. Repeat for all 5 circuit boards
- Manually unlock turret latch and turn turret by hand to access all 5 circuit boards
- Manually unlock turret latch and turn turret by hand to access all 5 circuit boards
- Remove M2.5x5 SS SHCS from face of circular shaped relay circuit board on front side of turret
- Gently push the printed strain relief and cabling all the way through the turret bore so that they stick out the other side as far as possible
- Remove the five M3x16 OX SHCS from turret arm that are near the brass standoffs, do not loosen brass standoffs
- Gently pull turret along the strain relief, away from the arm casting
- Do not pull on ends of turret arms
- Do not pull on ends of turret arms
- Loosen screws connecting the turret motor mount to the arm casting so that the turret motor mount and motor can be slid towards the turret bore
- Additional loosening may be required to angle the motor shaft and remove the belt from the motor pulley
- Additional loosening may be required to angle the motor shaft and remove the belt from the motor pulley
- Remove belt from turret arm and slip over turret (Or cut the old belt to remove)
- Install replacement belt around turret pulley and turret motor pulley by working the belt over the turret. You can also pass the belt over the wires and circuit boards, but through the inner bore of the turret.
- When installing the belt, make sure the teeth of the belt are properly aligned in the middle of pulley teeth
- When installing the belt, make sure the teeth of the belt are properly aligned in the middle of pulley teeth
- Gently slide turret motor and turret motor mount towards previous position so as to lightly tension the belt and torque turret motor mount screws to finger tension then loosen ¼ turn
- Motor mount screws will need to be torqued later when tensioning the belt
- Slide turret back into place on the bearings so that turret marking aligns with the turret pulley marking and reinstall the five M3x16 OX SHCS
- Incrementally turn M3x16 screws on turret in star formation using ¼ turns each time
- Finally tighten screws to 12 inch-pounds
- Do one final check of all screws to ensure they are torqued to the same tension
- Reinstall M3x5 SS SHCS to secure tool circuit boards on back side of corresponding turret arms, torqueing just past finger tension
- Be careful not to twist circuit board wires over each other
- Be careful not to twist circuit board wires over each other
- Manually unlock the turret latch and turn the turret so that the bores of the circuit board align with the bores of the corresponding brass screws and reinstall M2.5x5 SS SHCS in face of circular shaped relay circuit, torqueing just past finger tension
- Tension belt using belt tensioner on backside of turret arm.
- Compress the spring by turning the screw until the distance to the washer is 6.2 mm
- DO NOT BOTTOM OUT SPRING
- Torque motor mount screws to 10 inch-pounds
- Reinstall the extruders removed in step 5. Additional instructions for this step are available in 4.6 Install FDM tool.
- Reinstall and tram the spindles removed in step 5. Additional instructions for this step are available in 4.7 Install and tram spindle
