The H-Series crate is partially assembled using wood screws to allow easy disassembly.
- Remove the lid from the crate (10-12 screws)
- Determine which direction the machine is facing and remove the right side and back panels of the crate (right and back if you are in front of the machine) by removing the approx 15 wood screws (Torx T20 bit)
- Remove the extra components from the crate (build enclosure parts, tool kit, machine beds, etc).
- Release the straps holding the controls cabinet to the left side of the crate. Do this by removing the (~3) wood screws holding the strap crosspiece from the outside of the crate.
- Remove the front and left side panels of the crate (approx 15 wood screws)
- Release the machine attachment panel from the bottom of the crate (~10 wood screws)
- Lift the machine with a crane and the lifting strap if available. Otherwise, use the bottom OSB attachment panel to move the machine onto a workbench. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ALONE! Depending on the model, the machine weighs 100 to 180lbs. This is a 2 person job.
- Release the (3) M8 hex head screws that hold the machine to the attachment panel from below. Do this by sliding the machine to the edge of the bench so that one screw is accessible at a time from below. For safety, have a friend or colleague help stabilize the machine during this step.
- Slide the machine off the attachment panel and directly onto the bench top
- Remove the ratchet strap holding the turret arm against the block and remove all plastic wrap from the machine. Leave the block in place
- Carefully remove the spring and the orange tag on the counterweight cable inside the arm cavity. Make sure that the cable stays on the pulleys. It is difficult to see the pulley in the back of the arm, but you should be able to see that the cable is protruding from roughly the center lower portion of the slot. As you remove the orange tag and spring, maintain a bit of tension on the cable. Remove the block and move the arm down, confirming that the cable stays on the pulleys. Rotate the turret by hand to confirm the cable rides smoothly.
